Cardi B has officially joined the Quality Control family. According to an exclusive report by Variety, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper recently inked a management deal with QC bosses Kevin “Coach K” Lee and Pierre “Pee” Thomas.

This means Cardi will join a star-studded roster that includes names like Lil Yachty, Lil Baby, and Migos. The latter act, of course, is made up Quavo, Takeoff, and Cardi’s fiancé Offset.

Variety notes that the Bronx rapper was previously represented by New York-based KSR Group.

In Complex’s February 2018 cover story, Coach K was asked how he and Pee decide on which artists to work with. He claimed it was mostly based on instinct.

“You know, it's like recruiting athletes. It's a lot of them out there. It's that gut feeling of like, ‘Okay, I'm going to take a chance on this one.’ They got special talent, and their character's right? Man, we going to bet on it. You know what I'm saying? We're going to bet on it.”

Clearly, the team saw something in Cardi. And the move couldn't have come at a better time.

News of the deal arrives just one day after Cardi unveiled the cover art and official release date of her debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy. Though there isn't a lot of information about what the project will deliver, it's safe to assume we'll receive more information in the upcoming week. The album is set to drop April 6.
