Rae Sremmurd Shoots Down Breakup Rumors: 'Fake News!'

Also: 'SremmLife 3' is on the way.

Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi are still very much committed to the Rae Sremmurd life. Despite the persistence of indefinite hiatus rumors amid chatter of their forthcoming solo projects, the duo—half of which is currently chilling in the Billboard Hot 100 with the hit French Montana collab, "Unforgettable"—has no plans of hanging up the Rae brand anytime soon.

"That's a myth!" Swae Lee toldBillboard Thursday when asked about rumors of last year's SremmLife 2 going down as the final Rae Sremmurd album.

"Fake news!" Slim Jxmmi added.

According to Swae, the two still have plenty to say as a duo. "Sometimes, people may be too tuned in and they misconstrue things," he said. "Yeah, so that was just a myth. We've got many, many, many more projects coming. Many more songs coming, many more features coming. It's just the beginning."

Breakup rumors have been annoying Rae Sremmurd since at least last year. In a 2016 interview with Complex, Jxmmi said "the industry" has "been wanting" to ask the solo question. "The whole industry going to do shit to separate us," he said. "We got separate tracks, because we can both rap."

In the same interview, Swae offered a clarification on any solo project chatter. "When we say solo projects, we say chances for the fans to get to see us individually," he explained. "But we're still Sremmed out. We might put them on the same disc—who knows? We definitely got different projects that we're working on and tweaking."

As for the future of Rae Sremmurd, the pair revealed to Billboard that they're currently in SremmLife 3 mode and plan to continue their collaborative streak with producer Mike Will Made-It. "Mike Will Made-It is definitely gonna be in the mix," Swae said. "His vision is crazy. We trust him and we're on the same page. Everything we create, it just goes together so perfectly. It blends so perfectly."

Swae Lee's Swaecation and Slim Jxmmi's Project Jxm, meanwhile, are still in the "readying" process.
