Premiere: Emeli Sandé Is A UKG Queen On The MJ Cole Edit Of Chase & Status’ “Love Me More”

A sonic dream.

A collaboration between Chase & Status and Emeli Sandé was written in the stars—both have hit the top of the charts with D&B-tinged pop anthems, and both have an affinity for British electronic music. "Love Me More" is a great mix of all the above—soaring soul vocals over a pop-leaning, drum and bass production.

Taking more of a lighter approach on the remix, C&S have recruited UK garage king MJ Cole, whose dreamy, orchestral 2-step transforms Sande into the First Lady of UKG. In an email to Complex, Chase & Status explained that they "grew up listening to MJ Cole; seminal tunes like 'Sincere' really inspired us to produce and make music, and we have literally had this epic remix on repeat since we got it." MJ Cole also got in touch: "Fresh back from Glastonbury this year, I caught Emeli Sandé's set and I heard 'Love Me More' as an instant classic—so I was beyond chuffed to be offered the opportunity to give the song a remix, and delve into the masterful fabric of the production from the legendary Chase and Status. I love my job."
