Playboi Carti's new video for "Woke Up Like This" has arrived. Carti dropped the video for the Lil Uzi Vert-featuring single Wednesday as a Tidal exclusive. Just a few hours later, the JMP-directed video was made available on YouTube. Watch "Woke Up Like This" up top.
The video includes a very Uzi appearance from Uzi, as well as shots of Carti getting a quick haircut and delivering some of the track's most memorable lines from a prison yard setting. And that's the only sentence we will include about what is happening in the video, because we all know there's nothing worse than writing about a video instead of just letting people watch it for themselves. So, watch it.
Carti's "Woke Up Like This" video arrives almost a month to the day after the video for "Magnolia," a song we can safely say will go down in 2017 history as one of the songs to beat this summer. The video co-starred ASAP Rocky and also featured a Nav cameo. Both tracks appear on Carti's self-titled debut mixtape.
Carti is currently in the middle of a headlining tour with Young Nudy and "Magnolia" producer Pi'erre Bourne.
Uzi fans, meanwhile, are still waiting on Luv Is Rage 2. The last we heard, producer Maaly Raw had claimed the project was "about 90 percent finished." An official release date hasn't been announced, but Maaly Raw told XXL in July that Atlantic had given them a deadline for turning in the album.
