The Weeknd hopped on a new track from XO artist Nav early Wednesday morning called "Some Way," gifting the single with a verse about someone's former significant other falling in love with him. But to whom could The Weeknd have possibly been referring?
For reference, here's the relevant slice from The Weeknd's "Some Way" contributions:
"I think your girl, think your girl fell in love with me
She say my fuck and my tongue game a remedy
Oh yeah, yeah, I just hit a lick and I know you feelin' some way
I just took that chick, and I know you feelin' some way, oh yeah
She just want a n**** like me, you feelin' some way, way, way, yeah"
That section, as Uproxx noticed, sounds a hell of a lot like a reference to Justin Bieber. Bieber, as a reminder, has followed news of The Weekend's rumored romance with Selena Gomez by declaring Abel's music "wack" and mocking his "Starboy" single. A seemingly large sampling of "Some Way" listeners agree that The Weeknd definitely appears to be sending lyrics in Bieber's direction:
The Weeknd and Selena Gomez headlines marathon kicked off back in January. The two were snapped, in TMZ's words and certainly not mine, getting "handsy and mouthsy" outside Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica. And the rest is history.
Bieber jokingly lamented his lack of a Valentine Tuesday:
Bieber has not, however, revealed his thoughts on that new Nav x Weeknd track.
