Toronto rapper Derek Wise is on a roll and showing no signs of slowing. After releasing his debut full-length album Inglorious at the end of January, he just released the first visual in support of the project and it's a must-see, but only if you're not at work or in front of your Mom.
The hazy, colourful video features clips of Derek hanging out in the Hollywood Hills overlooking Los Angeles interspersed with shots of him lazying around in bed with a bevy of topless women. The allusions to the Ryan Gosling neo-noir film Drive make sense considering Derek sometimes uses the online alias "@RyanGlamsling."
The visual for "Disconnected" was directed by Glenn Michael of Kid. Studio, who are also on fire as of late with their work on such videos as Big Sean's "Bounce Back" and The Weeknd's much-hyped "Reminder" video. If you'll remember, Derek has a quick cameo in that video as well, along with a load of A-List stars and many other rising artists from Toronto.
Peep the visual for "Disconnected" above and be sure to get a copy of Inglorious from iTunes.
