Drake's Views standout "One Dance" is now the most streamed song in Spotify history with over 880 million streams, knocking Major Lazer's long-lived hit, "Lean On," out of the top spot. On top of that, the Toronto rapper is currently the No. 1 artist on Spotify with over 36 million monthly listeners and over eight billion total streams.
It shouldn't be too surprising that Drake has reached this point considering the massive success "One Dance" has already seen from scoring the rapper his first No. 1 hit song in the U.S., the U.K., and his native Canada.
The track didn't receive the typical video treatment, but instead got a visual courtesy of Drake's recently released short film, Please Forgive Me, that starred Drake traveling from the desert while "One Dance" and "Controlla" soundtracked a gun fight and a car chase.
It's been a busy year for Drake as he traveled across the country for his Summer Sixteen Tour with Future, although he unfortunately had to postpone the remaining three shows of his tour due to a severe ankle injury. "I only want to give you the best show you deserve, I promise—I will make it up to you," wrote Drake in a personal message to his fans. "I can't wait to see you all again with new music and a stronger ankle."
Fortunately, it sounds like Drake and his "One Dance" collaborator Wizkid aren't done yet since the Nigerian artist recently shouted out Drizzy during his One Africa Music Fest appearance, telling the crowd that they had another record coming before the end of the year. Here's hoping the pair have another hit on their hands.
