Drake is postponing Summer Sixteen Tour dates due to his recent ankle injury. The rapper took to his October's Very Own blog Wednesday to share the disappointing news with fans. The postponed dates are October 9, 13, and 16 in Toronto, Philadelphia, and one of the Newark shows.

"We are over 50 shows in and I have done everything to power through my recent ankle injury and leave it all out there on the stage every night. I hate to be told I can't do something, but under doctor's orders to allow me time to recuperate," Drake writes before conceding that he and the doctor agreed that he would cancel three of his upcoming shows.

The rapper has been following a rigorous touring schedule since kicking off his high profile summer tour in July without many breaks inbetween. His high energy performance have been complimented with a steady stream of guests from his OVO Sound signees Roy Woods and dvsn as well as other big names like Gucci Mane, Eminem, and Kanye West. Most recently, Dr. Dre, Big Sean, French Montana, and Ice Cube all hit the stage alongside Drizzy for his big show at The Forum in L.A while Future brought out Ty Dolla Sign and Young Thug.

Of course, there have also been some pretty big moments when Drake brought out his rumored girlfriend Rihanna in multiple cities to perform some of their latest hits together.

The show has seen no shortage of big moments and Drake wants to keep it that way. "I only want to give you the best show you deserve, I promise—I will make it up to you. Fortunately, Drake signs off on a high note by mentioning that new music is on the way. "I can't wait to see you all again with new music and a stronger ankle."
