Last Friday night (Oct. 21), A$AP Rocky released his Money Man short film, featuring two tracks from the forthcoming A$AP Mob album, Cozy Tapes Vol.1, with appearances from grime emcee Skepta, The Mob's own A$AP Nast, 616 rapper Milkavelli and La Haine actor Said Taghmaoui. The slickly-shot film was directed by Dexter Navy and Rocky himself, taking place amidst gritty northwest London tower blocks and estates which become "The Butterfly Canal".
Drawing on cult film La Haine, the mini movie lucidly revolves around a drug made from scorpion and butterfly blood and a heated relationship between Rocky (Money Man Flacko), Said Taghmaoui (Money Man) and his sister, Rina. Money Man also contains two tracks: "Money Man", featuring A$AP Nast, and "Put That On My Set" with Boy Better Know's Skepta, both recorded at Red Bull Studios London.
The premiere was lively, featuring sets from Ciesay (Places + Faces), Siobhan Bell and DJ Maximum, with the likes of FKA twigs and Dev Hynes in attendance. Check out the action, in pictures, down below.
