Nickelback Wanted In Australia For "Crimes Against Music"

Australian authorities are warning people about the dangers of listening to Nickelback.

Whoever said police officers don’t have a sense of humour? On Wednesday, the police force in Queensland, Australia posted a Wanted poster on their Facebook page that read, “Wanted for Crimes Against Music” with the caption, “Police are on the lookout for these men who are believed to be impersonating musicians around Boondall this evening. Avoid the area. It may be hazardous to your hearing and street cred.” The poster featured an illustration of Canada’s pride and joy, Nickelback.

Poor Nickelback takes almost as much heat as fellow Canadian, Justin Bieber, but that doesn’t stop them from releasing new music and going on tour. Lead singer, Chad Krueger laughs off the hate they get, and said in an interview with The Pulse Of Radio in the U.K., "If they had stopped writing all this stuff about us, there would be no controversy left in the band and we probably would have died out years ago. They don't know that they're still responsible for us being around today.”

This isn’t even the first time the Queensland police force in particular has trolled the band. In December 2014, they posted a photo Nickelback CD received as a Secret Santa gift captioned, “Police media team report a suspicious package has been received as part of the office secret Santa. It will now be destroyed #BlameCanada #JokesOnUs.”

Despite all the hate Nickelback gets, they’re still popular enough to go on international tours, and sell out huge venues. So, we can hate all we want — they’ll still be laughing all the way to the bank.
