A naked woman was arrested in Florida on Sunday for driving a golf cart through an active crime scene.
NBC Miami reports Pinellas County deputies were in the middle of a six-hour standoff Sunday night with an armed teenager in Dunedin, Florida when Jessica Smith, 28, drove past police units into the crime scene.
Smith, who authorities said had “a distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person” approached the home where the armed standoff was happening, ignoring officials’ commands to leave the area.
Authorities also noted that the woman, who is from Boston, “was completely nude.”
Sheriff’s deputies reportedly pulled the woman from the cart and handcuffed her while the standoff continued to go on. Smith now faces a charge for resisting an officer without violence.
“The defendant’s actions and inability to follow directions put multiple deputies at risk for potentially getting shot at,” investigators said in an affidavit.
According to WFLA, Smith had no connection to the armed suspect, Myles Abbott, who ran from police and climbed onto the roof of the house after allegedly firing his gun. Abbott, 18, has been hit with charges of loitering and prowling, weapons charges, aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer without violence, and a warrant for one count vehicular homicide.
