Spirit Passenger Claims She and Other Travelers Were Stuck on Plane for 7 Hours in Viral TikTok

Naturally, several comments on the video included jokes about the woman who recently went viral for her "not real" remarks.

If you’ve been tasked with traveling by air at any point in the past few years, then you’re likely well aware of just how egregiously shitty the experience typically is. Of course, if you’re rich and only fly first class, you likely can’t relate. In fact, I would advise anyone rich who’s reading this to kindly cease doing so, as I do not write for you and never will.

For the latest example of this egregious shittiness, we turn to a viral video first shared to TikTok by Lindsey Mascera. In it, the traveler who's filming the clip and other passengers are seen saying they've been waiting more than seven hours for their plane to depart.

"So we have 200 passengers on this flight right now," the person filming is heard saying in the clip below. "Everyone’s luggage is down there. How long have you been waiting?"

From there, two passengers chime in to back up the seven hours claim, with one saying it had been about seven hours since they checked in.

“So they told us it was going to be 30 minutes and we’re still on this flight at 10:44. … It’s almost 11 pm and we’ve been here since 3,” the person filming is heard noting before another passenger points out that it was closer to 4.

“Whatever,” the person filming responded. “We got delayed and now we’re back and there’s no pilots to be found and there’s no answer. Do not ride Spirit. They suck.”

It’s unclear if all the passengers on the plane had been stuck on the flight for more than seven hours, or if only a portion of them had been stuck due to connecting flights. Another clip from the same TikTok user sees a flight attendant providing clearly frustrated travelers with an update, including that they are not allowed to fully deplane but can individually exit the craft and get a refund. Meanwhile, another passenger is heard shouting out that those in charge should “make y’all fucking mind up.” Notably, the flight attendant agreed.

"You’re absolutely right," the flight attendant is heard saying in the follow-up clip below. "I have no arguments with what all of you think and your frustrations."

At the time of this writing, additional details about the flight—including original takeoff location and intended destination—were not clear. Complex has reached out to Spirit Airlines for comment. This story may be updated.

In the comments of the first clip, a slew of people couldn’t help but offer up references to a recent plane incident involving a woman who went viral for a mid-flight assertion that a certain "motherfucker back there" who was "not real."

The woman in question was later identified as Tiffany Gomas, who ultimately issued a public apology. In an Instagram update this week, Gomas told her growing number of followers to "stay tuned" for an apparently impending announcement.

“One moment doesn’t define you; but it can define your purpose," she wrote in the caption.
