Melania Trump Accused of Plagiarzing Again—This Time From Donald's Ex-Wife

After stealing some words from Michelle Obama during her speech at the Republican National Convention, you would think Melania Trump would stay far, far away from the words of others for her speech on Thursday in Berwyn, Pennsylvania. But Yair Rosenberg, a writer for Tablet, discovered a very strange similarity between a part of Melania's talk and an old interview by a former Mrs. Trump, Marla Maples.

Rosenberg heard the current Mrs. Trump say the phrase "“If you could dream it, you could become it," and discovered that only one other person had ever used that phrase before, at least according to Google.

He pointed out that not only were those words the same, they occurred while discussing similar topics.

Rosenberg then appealed to a historian, who explained that the phrase Melania used appeared to be a unique mangling of two different clichés: "If you dream it, you can do it," from Walt Disney; and William A. Ward's "If you imagine it, you can achieve it. If you dream it, you can become it." The version of that idea Melania used seemed to be unique to her...and Maples, though he admitted that both speakers possibly could have heard the phrase from Donald Trump in the first place.
