A pair of suspected burglars had to flee for their lives after the person at the home they were trying to break into fired a hail of bullets through the door.

The incident occurred on Saturday in Dallas, Texas, and was captured through a Ring doorbell camera that recorded the scene in the hallway just outside the apartment. Fox News obtained the footage showing exactly what went down in that wild situation.

At the start of the video, one of the suspects, named Aaron Contreras, acted as a maintenance worker and knocked on the apartment door, asking to check an air-conditioner filter inside. The resident, Ethan Rodriguez, responded to Contreras through his phone connected to the Ring camera and told the burglar no one was home.

The video then cuts to Contreras, with a pistol in hand and a masked accomplice attempting to break the apartment door. After several attempts, Rodriguez began to shoot his own firearm from inside the apartment, with the bullets moving through the door and piercing the wall outside.

Contreras shot his gun before running down the stairs with his accomplice. Dallas Police eventually arrived on the scene and conducted a search of the home as a precaution. Rodriguez was home with his brother and was not arrested since he used self-defense. No one was injured in the chaos.

Contreras was eventually arrested and sent to county jail for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, burglary of a habitation, and deadly conduct discharge of a firearm. His bond is set at $150,000 while his accomplice remains at large.
