Toronto Driver Arrested After Found Asleep Behind Wheel In A Live Lane

The driver allegedly had a blood alcohol level of over 80 milligrams.

Ontario Provincial Police have arrested an intoxicated driver who had fallen asleep behind the wheel.

According to the police's Twitter account, the driver had fallen asleep near Highway 401 and Leslie Street in Toronto.

The police allege that the driver had a blood alcohol concentration that was three times over the legal limit. The police then took the driver into custody and charged them with impaired operation of a vehicle and driving with a blood alcohol level over 80 milligrams.

The driver has reportedly fallen asleep while driving and the car came to a halt in a live lane.

The OPP has not revealed any information about the driver.

In the replies to the OPP's tweet, one user spoke about an eerily similar situation that happened as her daughter was driving home during the weekend in Hamilton, Ontario.

"My daughter had to slam on the breaks then was also almost hit from behind," she wrote. "The man behind the wheel was arrested."
