What the covfefe? Turns out our Commander In Chief can’t pronounce Utah correctly. One would think being able to say (let alone remember) the names of all 50 states would be some kind of presidential prerequisite, but apparently not.
Trump arrived in Utah today to announce that he is rolling back federal protection of the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments. His decision is believed to be the largest rollback of federally protected land in national history—2 million acres worth, to be exact.
The Bears Ears Monument and Grand Staircase-Escalante were designated national monuments by President Obama and Clinton, respectively. So it comes as a surprise to no one that these sites were on Trump’s petty, anti-liberal-everything hit list. While ranchers are celebrating Trump’s decision, it has left environmental groups furious.
The President delivered his announcement at the Utah capitol building, and proceeded to mispronounce Utah multiple times before he seemed to get the hang of those pesky four letters toward the end of his speech. “Yooter,” he says at one point. Nope, try again. “Yootuh,” he tries. Ugh. No, dude.
Of course, this isn’t the first of the Trump's linguistic blunders. Remember Nevaahda? But, I assume that sort of thing is bound to happen when you speak at a fourth grade level.
