Amazon Admits Alexa Is Laughing at Us Lowly Humans

The company said it's "working to fix it."

That’s it. The robots have officially taken over, and they’re laughing at our silly human selves...literally. As we previously reported, Amazon's Alexa users have been noticing that their smart speaker devices have been laughing at them, unprovoked. Yep.

And just in case you thought all these people were crazy, just know that Amazon has now acknowledged the phenomenon. In a statement to The Verge, the company said, “We’re aware of this and working to fix it.” Well, we should hope so!

Users on Twitter had been posting about how Alexa laughs randomly laughs in what may be described in a mocking tone. To make matters even more creepy, the laugh sounds very human-like. People have been coping by unplugging the giggly devices altogether. Tbh, I'd take the Homepod's unsightly white rings over a creepy computer cackle any day of the week.
