Portuguese artist Alexandre Farto—a.k.a. “Vhils”—has made his name globally for his incredible brand of street art that takes the graffiti he practiced as a teen one step further. He creates elaborate portraits and pieces that are cut, chiseled or exploded from abandoned buildings or built-up layers of paint or paper, creating work that is moving, emotional and (quite literally) ground-breaking.

Now, the artist is following in the footsteps of KAWS, Futura, Os Gêmeos, Shepard Fairey, Ryan McGinness, Scott Campbell and, most recently, JonOne by designing the latest bottle in Hennessy's artist series. The Hennessy V.S Limited Edition by Vhils was revealed back in June and now after a successful launch event in New York City last week, the bottle will start to be available, first in stores throughout the States beginning this month, and later in the summer in Canada.

For his design, Vhils selected motifs from the Hennessy archives, then set to reproduce the drink's unmistakable amber hue by experimenting with paper, heat and acid. The result is a bottle that combines the artist's signature grungy, modern aesthetic with the heritage of Hennessy's 250-year history. Check out the campaign video below, and be on the lookout at your local liquor store for these special bottles. Once they hit the shelves they're sure to sell out, so don't sleep!
