Twitter co-founder and former CEO Evan Williams had his Twitter account hacked. Williams isn't the only tech giant to have been hacked in recent days, as Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was hacked on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest over the weekend.
Williams' Twitter account was hacked for a short period of time on Wednesday, with a group by the name of OurMine claiming responsibility for the hack in a now-deleted tweet: "Hey, it's OurMine Team, we are just testing your security, please send us a message" and provided its email.
OurMine is the same group that took credit for hacking Zuckerberg's accounts. OurMine tweeted Zuckerberg from their Twitter account to alert him to the hacks, to which Zuckerberg replied, "No you didn't. Go away, skids" reportsEngadget.
OurMine's Twitter was suspended after its exchange with Zuckerberg and reamins so as of Wednesday. The group didn't reveal Williams' password, but it's hard to imagine it'd be easier to crack than Zuckerberg's alleged password of "dadada."
A Twitter spokesperson told Complex over email, "A number of other online services have seen millions of passwords stolen in the past several weeks. We recommend people use a unique, strong password for Twitter."
Kylie Jenner is one of many celebs to have her Twitter breached recently. Hackers on her account began tweeting about all sorts of things, like an alleged sex tape between Kylie and Tyga. That hacker is thought to be the same person who hacked Katy Perry's Twitter account.
