Donald Trump: Hillary Clinton's Bodyguards Should Disarm

Donald Trump says Hillary Clinton's bodyguards should disarm and "see what happens to her."

Fresh off of falsely blaming Hillary Clinton for the birther movement that accused President Barack Obama of not being a U.S. citizen, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has suggested violence against Clinton once again. In a remark widely perceived as threatening, Trump previously said "Second Amendment people" might be able to do something about Clinton picking Supreme Court justices to support her call for stricter gun control.

At a Miami rally Friday night, Trump suggested Clinton's Secret Service agents should get rid of their guns and "see what happens" to Clinton since she "doesn't want guns."

"I think her bodyguards should drop all weapons," said Trump. "They should disarm immediately. She doesn't want guns. Take their guns away, let's see what happens to her." He seemed to call Clinton out for hypocrisy later, adding, "Crooked Hillary wants to get rid of all guns and yet she is surrounded by bodyguards who are fully armed. No more guns to protect Hillary!"

Trump's remarks came after telling the crowd Clinton wants to "destroy" the second amendment. This is not the first time the Republican candidate has made that incorrect claim about his opponent. In remarks last month, Trump falsely said Clinton wanted to "abolish" the second amendment.

Clinton's platform does call for stricter gun control. To that end, she has met with Mothers of the Movement, a group that includes the mothers of Sandra Bland and Trayvon Martin, as well as other mothers of victims of gun violence and police brutality. Mothers of the Movement came out in support of Clinton and her call for gun control at the Democratic National Convention.

Clinton's campaign did not immediately respond to Complex's request for comment.
