The 'Consent Condom' Has People Angry

Argentinian condom company Tulipán has created a "consent condom" that comes in a box that requires four hands to open. The company contracted an ad agency to create the condom to start a conversation about consent and condom use in their home country.

The video demonstration of the condom makes their message even clearer.

"If they don't say yes, it means no," the tagline reads. "Consent is the most important thing in sex."

The company placed the limited-run condoms around Buenos Aires and at events with the idea of spreading awareness of the need for consent. BBDO, the company who created the box for Tulipán, explained the campaign in a statement.

"Tulipán has always spoken of safe pleasure, but for this campaign, we understood that we had to talk about the most important thing in every sexual relationship — pleasure is possible only if you both give your consent," Joaquin Campins of BBDO said.

The condom has stirred up a ton of conversation online, seemingly reaching the company's goal. However, plenty of people weren't thrilled with the company's simplified idea of consent.
