'Tis the season to love, give, and laugh and for those family members who don't have the privilege of seeing their loved ones all too often, sometimes their presence is a present in and of itself. From active duty members of the military, to college students, to others, here are the most heartwarming homecoming videos from this holiday season.

Whenever you feel the need to let out a good cry, there's nothing quite like watching videos of people returning home to surprise their families. Oftentimes their dogs will even become noticeably excited upon seeing their beloved for the first time since they left home. This year, we've compiled some of the most heartwarming videos of folks venturing home to see their loved ones.

Logan Bay, a soldier in the U.S. Army, told his mom he wouldn't be able to make it home for Christmas. Instead, he planned out a surprise return. "I had to surprise my mom so I told her I wouldn't be home for Christmas," he wrote on Twitter. "I guess she was a little surprised.."

A member of the U.S. Air Force decided to go for a more public approach and surprise his brother in a store. He walks up behind his brother and softly says "hey."

A member of the U.S. Military, Hector Cage told his parents he wouldn't be able to return home, however he sent them a video telling them how much he loves them as an alternative. Both of his parents appear quite stoic as they're watching the clip, both visibly saddened by their son's absence. However, when Hector walks down the stairs, both of his parents jump up to greet their son, both crying and noticeably surprised.

Jay Wright, a medic in the U.S. Air Force, walked into his home and exclaimed "hey baby, I'm home." By the time he's made it to the living room his entire family is losing it, dragging him down to the floor in a single embrace.

And for the ultimate tear jerker, a young girl tells Santa she wants him to bring her father, Private First Class Francisco Cordero III, home for Christmas. As she finishes taking the photo with the bearded magician, he tells her to look to her left, where she sees her father waiting to embrace her.  

After moving away from your family, voluntarily or involuntarily, going home becomes a less and less frequent habit. Oftentimes you start to build a life away from where you grew up, and before you know it that new life starts to feel like a comfortable haven you created on your own. However, that doesn't mean that going home isn't immensely joyful. 

Hanine Mohamed ventured home for the holidays and surprised who she refers to as "the love of my life." Upon parking in front of what appears to be her home, a small girl runs up to the car window and adorably shrieks when she realizes Hanine is inside.

Twitter user @JakeNotSoLittle decided to surprise his girlfriend while she was at work. However, when he snuck up on her, her friend who was in on the surprise, was asking her whether she was missing him or not. She shakes her head "No," before her friend says "turn around" which is when she sees her boyfriend recording her, sending her into an immediate happy cry.
