A 23-year-old in Port St. Lucie made a late bid for Florida Man of the Year when he tried to pay for his McDonald's order with a bag of weed.

According to ABC News, Anthony Andrew Gallagher attempted to make the trade early on the morning of December 16, offering the weed through the drive-thru window. When the cashier declined his offer, Gallagher drove off.

Apparently, the police were called over the incident and they arrived at McDonald's to question the worker. While the police were still on-site, Gallagher attempted to go through the drive-through again and was arrested.

He is charged with marijuana possession and driving under the influence.

While there's no report on whether or not Gallagher tried to pay with a baggie the second time around, returning to the spot where you just tried to barter with a dime bag is worthy of at least reaching the podium in the annual competition for the most Florida thing to happen in the Sunshine State.

The failed transaction is far from the weirdest thing to happen in a Mickey D's drive-thru lane. A Michigan man was busted back in 2014 for masturbating in the drive-thru on more than one occasion

Stories of weird deals going the other way seem to be largely urban legends. That story we all saw about a McDonald's employee who was terminated after he was found dropping his mixtapes into kid's Happy Meals was entirely fabricated. Of course, a close look at the original story would make that obvious. Just take a look at this quote:

“I bought my son a happy meal and inside came a mysterious cd” says Sarah Platt, “I, like any other parent, would assume the cd was for children. I played the cd in my car for my son while we drove home and lord Jesus have mercy on Tyshaun, the mixtape was dreadful. Not only was it completely inappropriate, but it was also the weakest set of bars I’ve ever heard.”

Unfortunately for Gallagher, his arrest was as real as it gets.
