Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) had an amazing response to the recent death threats that she has received.

During an immigrationrally in California on Saturday, Waters told a crowd of people, "I know that there are those who are talking about censuring me, talking about kicking me out of Congress, talking about shooting me, talking about hanging me. All I have to say is this: If you shoot me you better shoot straight, there’s nothing like a wounded animal." Waters said she had received harassment after asking protestors to confront the Trump administration for their harsh "zero tolerance" immigration policies that separated migrant children from their parents.

Earlier in the week, Trump falsely accused Waters of asking protestors to "harm" his supporters. He wrote, "Congresswoman Maxine Waters, an extraordinarily low IQ person, has become, together with Nancy Pelosi, the Face of the Democrat Party. She has just called for harm to supporters, of which there are many, of the Make America Great Again movement. Be careful what you wish for Max!"

In a statement, CNN reports, Waters said, "As the President has continued to lie and falsely claim that I encouraged people to assault his supporters, while also offering a veiled threat that I should 'be careful', even more individuals are leaving (threatening) messages and sending hostile mail to my office."

After receiving a "very serious death threat," Waters was reportedly forced to cancel two scheduled appearances in Alabama and Texas that were supposed to take place this weekend.
