On Tuesday night, pundit Andy Ostroy, a self-proclaimed "aggressive voice for Democrats," tweeted out something snarky about Donald and Melania Trump's relationship, on the well-worn theme of how she not-so-secretly hates him.
It showed a clip from the inauguration, with Melania smiling as Donald turned around to look at her, and then going angry and stone-faced as soon as he faced front. His caption was, "Seems the only #Wall @realDonaldTrump's built is the one between him and @FLOTUS #Melania #trump."
The tweet itself may not have been surprising, but the response to it was. As of this writing, it's received over 600 likes, but only one of them was from the First Lady herself. Melania's official @MELANIATRUMP account, which she has not otherwise used since the election, liked the tweet.
Ostroy noticed almost immediately.
He's wrong—the account, although unused for months, is verified. No word yet on how the like came to be. Within minutes of the like being noticed, however, it was gone.
Was Melania up late at night, inadvertently revealing her true feelings? Was she trying to show that she can take a joke? Had she been hacked? No matter what really went down, we'll always have the screenshots.
