After first teasing a return to fashion back in 2021, Phoebe Philo has publicly set a launch date for a new brand.

Per a statement shared to the newly launched @phoebephilo Instagram account, the label’s inaugural collection will be revealed this September. Simultaneously, the collection will also be made available via the official Phoebe Philo site. The statement, seen below, also notes that registrations will open in July.

Expectedly, the announcement has been met with intense fervor across social media and beyond. An announcement of this variety, of course, had actually been expected to drop much earlier than 2023. In the summer of 2021, Philo—whose history in fashion includes serving as creative director of both Céline and Chloé—was confirmed to be on the precipice of launching a new clothing and accessories label backed by LVMH.

In a statement shared with the Business of Fashion at the time, Philo said she was “very much looking forward” to reconnecting with her audience after a hiatus. She also said that additional information on the label would be released at the top of 2022, although that ultimately didn’t happen.

“To be independent, to govern and experiment on my own terms is hugely significant to me,” Philo said of launching a new chapter in her artistic story.
