Jas Prince is credited as one of the first people to discover Drake on MySpace before the Degrassi actor became a massive artist. And to celebrate the Boy’s 35th birthday, Prince gifted Drake, his dad Dennis Graham, and son Adonis custom OVO owl chains.
In Prince’s Instagram post revealing the gift, there’s an interesting behind-the-scenes look at how the custom jewelry was made from beginning to end. Prince tapped Flawless Diamonds Co. to get the job done and create the piece. The video shows the ideation and 3-D rendering process for the ice before the literal rocks are collected, forged in heat, and melted into the final product.
Drake turned 35 this past weekend and among the chains, cakes, and other gifts, the Toronto rapper also received the Rolls-Royce Phantom from Future that Drake formerly rented to “keep up appearances.”
“Back in 2007 we used to finesse this Rolls Royce Phantom rental to convince people in the city we were destined to make it,” Drizzy explained in a lengthy Instagram caption. “I used to scrape together 5k a month somehow to keep up appearances. We whipped this to Ottawa to see @belly and @cashxo and to Montreal for my first show ever.”
Drizzy then went into the sentimental value of the car and how it reflects his belief manifestation. Flawless Diamond Co also dropped a series of Instagram videos revealing how they crafted the owl pendent Jas Prince gifted the family. Check out how the custom ice came together down below.
