J.Crew tapped into the Harajuku district of Tokyo to work with Beams Plus for a fresh Japanese take on some of J.Crew’s heritage-inspired styles. Originally founded in 1999, Beams is one of Japan’s most respected lifestyle retailers. The Beams Plus line aims to bring classic Americana styles to a new generation. J.Crew’s collaboration with Beams Plus brings out Brendon Babenzien’s love for prep and uniform aesthetics while bringing a distinctive look to J.Crew. The collection includes bucket hats, T-shirts, ties, jackets, blazers, quilted liner jackets, and more. Standouts include a mil coat in harris tweed and a corduroy patchwork jacket.

Sky High Farm Workwear has unveiled its latest collaboration with Tremaine Emory’s label Denim Tears. The collaboration celebrates Black food. Imagery highlighting okra, collard greens, black eyed peas and watermelon seed packets are printed across a range of pieces. The collection includes a sharply-tailored green wool suit with peak lapels, signature Sky High Farm carpenter pants, a waxed duster canvas coat, a cashmere sweater and a vintage-washed hoodie. A thermal long sleeve, T-shirt, and a vintage leather jacket hand-painted by Fernando Ruiz will also all feature Emory’s curated selection of Black Foods.

Gucci’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele tapped Lev Tanju and Gareth Skewis to design a collaboration between Gucci and Palace. The collection pulls from Palace and Gucci’s rich archives to produce a collection that speaks to the niches that form what we understand as contemporary street culture today. The genderless designs pull inspiration from house music, skateboarding, motocross sports, soccer, and more. Standouts include shearling jackets boasting embossed monogram prints, Gucci Triferg hoodies, co-branded leather goods, and more. The release of this Gucci collaboration will also mark the first time Palace has ever released womenswear. Collectors should keep a close eye on the Palace x Gucci safe and motorcycle, two items that will only be produced in very limited quantities.

Mattel Creations is releasing a posthumous project with Virgil Abloh this week that redefines its iconic line of Masters of the Universe toys. The collection, titled “TOY,” is a four-piece drop that aptly lives up ro Abloh’s ethos to tap into one’s own inner child. The collection was conceived before Abloh’s tragic passing last year and was finished by Virgil Abloh Securities and Abloh’s creative studio Alaska Alaska. According to a representative from Alaska Alaska, Abloh had a deep love for Masters of The Universe that was rooted in nostalgia. The collection seeks to preserve the look of iconic characters while also drawing a parallel between art collectors and comic book collectors through unique packaging designed by Abloh. Each figure is designed in a monochromatic hue and comes with a comic book and art by Abloh’s frequent collaborator Reggieknow.

Daily Paper is all set to release its mid-season Holiday collection this week. A range of key cotton, knit and puffer styles for the colder months ahead will be available. Hoodies, T-shirts, and a matching checkered two-piece suit feature custom family portrait artwork alongside locally grown produce. Women’s knitwear pieces boast figure-hugging silhouettes and are made with comfortable stretchy fabrics. Of course, Daily Paper’s signature monogram prints return on sweaters, scarfs, handbags, and a luxurious dark chocolate puffer. Daily Paper’s latest collection perfectly embodies the brand’s eye for celebrating heritage, artistry, language and community.

Sackville & Co. is a contemporary cannabis accessories brand based in New York City and founded by Lana Van Brunt and Hayley Dineen. The latter is a Central St. Martin’s graduate who previously designed for Yeezy, OVO, Vivenne Westwood, and more. Naturally, aside from making elevated cannabis accessories such as gold grinders, the brand also produces some high end merch. Sackville & Co.’s latest drop includes sweatpants, crewnecks, T-shirts, tote bags, and dad hats that parodies the iconic “I Love NY” logo by replacing the heart with a smoking apple. The drop also includes an apple-shaped grinder and a coffee mug.

Golf Wang’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection has finally arrived. The Los Angeles-based label’s latest includes a strong run of cut and sew offerings, graphic T-shirts, and bold accessories. Standouts from the first drop include a button-shirt with an all-over print of a boxing ring and an elevated floral embroidered Harrington trucker jacket. Other exciting releases, such a Golf leather racing capsule collection, are expected in the near future.

The second round of products from Undercover and Human Made’s Last Orgy 2 collection will drop this Thursday. Last Orgy 2 was an influential column for Takarajima magazine by Jun Takahashi and NIGO®. Last Orgy 2 heavily influenced Japanese street culture and style in the early 1990s. Takahashi and NIGO® brifely launched a brand of the same name that was sold on an irregular basis at Nowhere, the famous Harajuku store they opened in 1993. Revived Last Orgy designs from the ‘90s, which includes a varsity jacket, a short-sleeve photo T-shirt, and a long sleeve photo T-shirt, will be available in the drop this week.

Sergio Tacchini and Union have partnered on a collaborative apparel collection that celebrates the intersection of streetwear and sportswear. The project naturally came about through a long friendship between Union’s Chris Gibbs and Sergio Tacchini creative director Sung Choi, who designed Union’s iconic “Frontman” logo. The collection features Union’s unique spin on heritage Tacchini styles. A premium twill track jacket and pant, tennis polo, shorts, color-blocked bucket hat, 5-panel cap, and a hoodie and T-shirt featuring Union’s “Frontman” logo will be available.

Mike Amiri’s latest collection featured the art of the popular Los Angeles-based artist Wes Lang. To celebrate the release of their Autumn/Winter 2022 collection, Amiri has released a book with Rizzoli that details the making of the collaboration. The book meticulously documents Amiri’s creative process, from the design of key silhouettes to the hand-painting of original works onto individual garments. Hundreds of photographs, taken by the artist duo Hart Lëshkina, take readers behind the scenes of Amiri’s’s atelier and Lang’s studio. The book documents the collection’s evolution from sketches, to samples, to the runway show that occurred this spring. The book is 480-pages long, features gatefold pages and booklets, and includes texts by fashion editor Dan Thawley and art critic Andrew Berardini alongside Amiri and Lang’s commentary.
