A Tribe Called Quest's 1993 classic Midnight Marauders, featuring the iconic "Award Tour," turns 25 years young this week. To mark the occasion, the album is being re-released alongside a special celebratory capsule collection that works the album's unforgettable artwork and song titles into new pieces any fan should feel lucky to have.
"Midnight Marauders is the quintessential masterpiece in A Tribe Called Quest's legendary catalog," Consequence said in a statement announcing the new collection. "It is an album executed on the basis of precision and substance being placed at the forefront of its palette henceforth the reason for its staying power 25 years later."

Tribe's Q-Tip recently looked back on the group's legacy during a wide-ranging discussion with Mid90s writer/director Jonah Hill. Comparing the perfectionist approach of Hill's directorial debut to The Low End Theory, Tribe's second album, Q-Tip recalled how a little cold almost prevented the album from dropping on what became a legendary day in music history.
"I had this cold, so we getting down to mixing it and starting to sequence it and I'm feeling better," he said. "So, I was trying to get to do a couple of the joints over, just my vocals. Everybody's like, 'Come on, stop. It sounds fine.' I was like, 'You guys don't hear it.' The guy's like, 'Motherfucker you already are fucking nasal. Stop. This shit is fine and you're bugging. Come on, let's go.' Thankfully I let it go because it came out the same day as two of my other favorite albums, Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers and then Nirvana Nevermind."
