Fresh off the design slopes, The North Face unveils its latest collection: Steep Tech RMST, which pays homage to freeskier Scot Schmidt and his ground-breaking legacy.

A pioneering freeskier, Schmidt captivated with daring adventures, soaring off cliffs into powder at 50+ mph. In 1983, The North Face, his inaugural sponsor, outfitted Schmidt with skiwear he pushed to its limits. What began as personalised gear modifications culminated in one of the most boundary-pushing collections ever.

Embodying the toughness, lightness and speed for adrenaline-fuelled adventures, the Steep Tech RMST collection is designed to offer protection for whatever the journey may be. The hero piece, RMST Steep Tech GTX Work Jacket, is crafted with fully waterproof GORE-TEX fabric, and mirrors the original Steep Tech designs, including an asymmetrical zipper, adjustable hood, bonded seams and a suite of pockets—a durable companion for the daring spirit of Schmidt’s cutting-edge feats.
