London-based artist Soldier and Angelo Baque’s Awake NY have joined forces to release a collaborative collection inspired by the multi-hyphenate’s creative project, ALL DOGS TO TO HEAVEN.
The line-up is comprised of four T-shirt options and an accompanying pair of printed hockey jerseys. Accenting the vibrant graphics is a hidden dog print woven into the jersey’s camouflage in red and black hues. The T-shirts, on the other hand, feature a reduced rendition of the moniker on the reverse, aiming to revisit the Soldier’s portrayal of protection, loyalty, fear, and safety.
“As is always the case with Soldier, there’s far more of a storyline at play just beyond the surface,” the collection notes read. “Dogs are tied to several people that he encountered on his travels around Africa and Europe, many of whom shared vastly similar relationships and identities in being tied to their canine best friend. Sometimes it’s important to disrupt, though it can be considered equally as important to absorb the active, waking world around us, just as Soldier captured each companion met along the way—their portrayal and the way they are perceived.”
