Sage Toda-Nation’s eponymous label has presented its latest collection for Fall/Winter 2023, once again preparing pieces which draw inspiration from the founder’s Japanese heritage and upbringing in Britain.

Officially returning for its third season, the emerging London-based label has already garnered a cult-like following through its minimalist design language and presence within some of the very best outposts, including Ssense, Selfridges, and Browns.

Detailed with military references and workwear undertones, the seasonal offering pays tribute to the UK’s sportswear heritage along with voluminous silhouettes and technical fabrics which have become synonymous with Japanese design.

Arriving in five hues inspired by Japan’s “Power of Five” concept, standouts include a reimagined snow pant with a matching quilted jacket dubbed Bekkai—Sage’s hometown in Hokkaido, Japan—and the oversized JiJi Harrington jacket, which takes its name from the wardrobes of granddads across Japan and the UK that the original design adorns.

Sage Nation’s standard Fossil tracksuit also reprises this season, transformed with ruched detailing mirroring ancient traces found underground. Oversized coats, nylon shirting, and cosy long sleeves round out the range crafted from heritage British mills such as Marton Mills and Alfred Brown.

Sage Nation’s FW23 collection will be available to cop later this year via selected stockists, as well as the Sage Nation webstore.
