Inspired by two notable figures from India’s past, namely the Maharaja of Indore and former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly, Karu Research has showcased its Spring/Summer 2024 collection.

The New Delhi-based label, founded by Kartik Kumra in 2021 and is often referred to as simply Karu, is deeply rooted in artisanal values and maintains an extensive network of craftsmen across India. Placing a strong emphasis on highlighting the artisans behind its unique garments, the brand regularly prioritises and preserves local handcrafted techniques across its collections.

In a collaborative effort, Karu Research has partnered with various Himalayan organisations to develop vegetable dyes and textured linens, handwoven on sustainable handlooms across embellished uniforms, elegant suiting, and studded denim.

Additionally, intricate hand-embroidered traditional Indian mosaics and floral illustrations land on this season's linen button-downs, cozy cardigans, and practical workwear jackets. Rounding things out with paint-splattered shirting, the ensemble includes pleated trousers and patchwork outerwear, complemented by a cricket-inspired collaboration with Stepney Workers Club.
