Twisted Soul serves as a journey through the English industrial heartlands, areas in which the monotony of the working week was broken up through the escapism of music - escapism through soul. This break from mundane through music saw the rise of venues like the iconic Wigan Casino and Golden Torch, giving weight to Northern Soul as a concrete movement. The depth of this everlasting spirit serves as the driving force for Farah's Autumn/Winter '19 collection, with those late nights coming to life through fabrication, pattern, and palette. Colour choices throughout the collection reflect the motion of dance and the vibrancy of the world by night, ranging from deep greens, through teal blue, into bright purples, hot red, gold, and cool pink contrasts. Fabrication and pattern are just as important with a focus on stripes, houndstooth, and tumbled cord.
