With the sweltering heat bombarding us from coast to coast, what better time to start thinking about layering up for the cool months? Well, it may be damn near impossible to get your brain to even consider a sweater or pea coat, but now is the time to start scoping the fall collections for your must-have wardrobe additions. With the fall/winter 2011 collection recently released, Original Fake has been all the rage, and for good reason. We've already seen some crazy collabs with the Supreme and Porter this season, and the overall quality of their regular collection is one of the best we’ve seen yet. The mix of street vs. “smart” wear is done to perfection, so there’s a little something for everyone to enjoy.

Taking the world by storm with this video a few weeks ago, Los Angeles Shoe Co. is entering the arena of footwear as the new kid on the block with something to say. Handcrafted, made in the U.S. footwear is their specialty, which is a breath of fresh air these days. The shoes are made with premium leather like Horween, and shipped in carved wooden shoe boxes. The shoes will run from $350-415, but LASCO seems confident that they'll be worth every nickle. Stay tuned.

With some tradeshow images popping up as early as January, Gitman Vintage’s fall/winter 2011 lineup is all set to drop, and it looks crazy good. With a good mix of basic design and outside-the-box details—like navy corduroy with polka dots—Gitman Vintage has some of the best looking, best fitting shirts on the rack, and the brand isn't afraid to keep things interesting. Button up.

There’s never not a time to wear a hat, especially a fitted or a snapback. What company has come up with one of the most impressive hat collections for the fall? Well, you’ve probably figured it out by now, but the Primitive line of caps has killed it. Repping Cali with nice basic (but nowhere near bland) designs, their snapbacks and New Eras have people buzzing like crazy. We ain’t mad at that.

As a part of the XX line, along with LVC, Levi’s Made & Crafted is among good company, and for good reason. They pretty much fill the spectrum of awesomeness with their goods for their fall/winter collection—spanning from oxfords and flannels, to parkas and blazers, and chinos and denim. Basically, you can fill your entire wardrobe with this collection and you'll be set.

The kings of informal ties, if there ever were such a thing, The Corsillo brothers and The Hill-Side cannot be stopped. Teasers and previews of the brand's fall offerings have been floating around, and with an array of chambrays, mixed in with some camos, and a rose pattern or two, these guys are hitting just about every fabric trend on the head.

From out of nowhere, Tantum has taken the boonie hat/pocket T-shirt category by storm. Using some insane materials and patterns, the L.A.-based company is looking to bank off of this recent success by pushing the envelope even more and latching onto more and more shops like Union L.A. and End in the U.K. More crazy materials and patterns for the upcoming season? Yes please!

As one of the most anticipated collections for the fall thanks to a directional change, WWM will be releasing its very first collection with Mark McNairy as creative director. The difference in aesthetic of the fall/winter 2011 from the spring/summer 2011 is noticable, but the goods still look sick. McNairy’s quirky, “C’est la vie” attitude works well with the collection and we can't wait to see it in stores.
