American designer Matthew M. Williams, owner of breakout label Alyx, has collaborated with Nike for the first time to produce a new elevated training collection. Nike calls it the “future of uniform training” for both men and women; the clothes have been made using Nike’s athlete-driven data and inspired by movement. They feature modular layers, magnetic buckles, and unexpected storage flow. The collection also includes necessary accessories that have been redesigned with data with mind, like towels and socks.

The collection takes certain aspects of Nike’s Advanced Apparel Exploration capsule, announced last year, and employs computational design to transform data like Atlas maps that relay heat, sweat zones, and motion and in turn create the structure for a new way to create the clothes.

“You need human beings to still figure out how to interpret data in a great way. The storytelling of how the product links to its use and bring an emotion to it into—tug on the heartstrings a little bit. That's where I see my role,” Williams told Nike.

The Nike x MMW collection will drop on July 12. Check out some of the photos of the pieces below.
