Interview: Del Toro Shoes Reveals New Camo Brogues

Del Toro Shoes has long been known for its luxurious velvet slippers and colorful driving shoes. The bright colors and studded soles definitely resonated more with the prep set than your average guy.

Now, co-founder and President Matt Chevallard showed us the latest in the brand's repertoire, this awesome camo brogue. We first spotted it on his feet during New York Fashion Week and instantly had to find out more.

"For the past couple years camo has been my favorite pattern because it embodies my vision of integrating my Italian heritage, American Prep, and NY sneakerhead/street culture into my line. Not to mention that it carries a great 'F U' attitude."

"To me, that radical nature is what is so appealing about it. Camo can be luxurious and dope in my eyes, yet repulsive to the larger community. It's ironic because it's worn by either a manual laborer (a camo trucker hat and cut off tee), or can be found on the runways around the world (from jackets to gowns). That enormous range is what a makes camo priceless as well as timeless."

"Italians were the first to issue printed camo uniforms to their individual troops, so I feel it is fitting for me to use it on my shoes. I have also been inspired by the Japanese application of camo in fashion.

A rich fabric, such as camo suede, applied to a classic silhouette, such as a wingtip, creates an instant winner in my mind. The sole is also particularly important, due to its featherweight nature and color. Handmade in Italy with the finest leathers and components, my camo suede wingtips couldn't express the Del Toro lifestyle any better."
