Last night at the CFDA Awards, Rihanna received the 2014 Style Icon of the Year, and she definitely made sure that people were speaking her name. When she showed up on the red carpet wearing a custom gown by Adam Selman, which, according to the designer, "is just fishnet and crystals and a couple of fingers crossed." As for the crystals, Ri was dripped head-to-toe in 230,000 Swarovski stones, which created a glamorous gown that also showed off all her assets.
All of them.
Selman told Style.com that the whole get-up was a very collaborative effort, and that the matching du-rag was Rihanna's idea. While accepting her award, Rihanna told the audience, "As long as I can remember, fashion has been my defense mechanism. As a child I remember thinking, 'She can beat me but she cannot beat my outfit.'" According to the below photo, the dude who walked her onto the stage definitely agrees.
