Barack Obama's former schoolmate dug up some old photographs from the prom night of the future President and shared them with Time. In the photos, a 17-year-old Barack is enjoying some pre-prom festivities with his homie and their dates before heading out for a magical evening. It's an interesting peek into the past of our current leader before he had any inclination that he'd be leading the free world.
Obama has spent a tumultuous five years as President, and we assume that the high school senior in the pictures had no idea how simple times were back then. The same goes for any celeb-to-be who is photographed at the apex of their high school career. It's easy to point and laugh, as you should, but these photos also serve as a reminder that, before they were rich and famous, these dudes had their style (and acne) struggles just like the rest of us.
