The Billboard Music Awards are basically the Diet Grammys. While the event isn't as prestigious as some of its contemporaries, the BBMAs are an indicator of popular success and lasting musical impact. Perhaps this is why celebs feel comfortable dressing outside the norm when hitting the BBMA red carpet.
Like any other red carpet, there's sure to be some real chart-topping outfits—along with a few others that don't merit a mention anywhere near the Hot 100. Here are The Biggest Style Wins and Fails at the Billboard Music Awards.

Fail: Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran looks like a 10-year-old who was forced to dress up for church on Sunday. Also the "Cheetos dust" beard isn't helping either.
Win: Wiz Khalifa
Wiz cleaned up. Rumor has it he hotboxed his car before stepping onto the red carpet, releasing a huge plume of smoke when he opened the door. We think it was just the fire alphet.
Fail: Florida Georgia Line
The best “Last Seen on the Jersey Shore” outfits of the night.
Win: Jourdan Dunn, Olivier Rousteing, and Kendall Jenner
Not only is Olivier Rousteing killing it with Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn on his arm, but he also announced an upcoming Balmain x H&M collaboration. It's safe to say that Olivier won the night.
Fail: Bryshere Gray
Hey, we love Empire as much as the next guy. But that doesn't excuse the wallpaper suit with his grandmother's brooch.
Win: Nick Jonas
Only Nick Jonas could get away with looking like the human eggplant emoji in this KENZO suit.
Fail: Iggy Azalea
It's too bad that Iggy looks like an 8th grader on her way to get another piercing at Claire's.
Win: 50 Cent
Faded, the right way.
Fail: David Lee Roth
David Lee Roth really could've nailed the "washed rockstar who peaked in the '80s but is still cool" look, then he decided to ruin a perfectly nice suit with terrible shoes and an even worse baselayer.
Win: One Direction
When the #SQUAD still looks dope even when one of your boys left the crew. Minus Zayn, the remaining members of the clique remain individually unfuckwithable. Shouts to Louis for mixing in the ill Maison Margiela graphic sweatshirt underneath his blazer.
Fail: Rico Love
This dude looks like he's doing his best Floyd Mayweather impression—while melting into the red carpet.
Win: Jennifer Lopez
