Phallus-inspired art has been around since prehistoric times, so why not translate this age-old trend into modern home decor, as well? Enter Czech designer Jan Vacek, who created hanging lamps intended to look like condoms. The glass exterior of the lamp sheathes an inner LED light, and a connecting wire allows the lamp to be hung from the ceiling.
Vacek's reasoning behind his bold creation? "The condom is the icon of freedom," he explained to Dezeen. "[It] captures drops, which are the bearer of life." The lamps come in a variety of colors and can be hung individually or in a group. Vacek acknowledges that his condom lights aren't everyone's cup of tea, though, explaining, "It is a game, fun and exaggeration." But if contraceptive-inspired decor is your thing, go for it.
