While it has fallen from its former glory, we can still remember 5 Pointz for what it was.

Complex's own Senior Video Director Jonathan Lees has been going to 5 Pointz for years, photographing both the graffiti and the people who have made up its eclectic community of artists and art enthusiasts. Upon the sad news that the place has been painted white, ahead of its demolition later this year, we reflect on what it used to be with these stunning images. Over 350 murals may be gone now, but these are a reminder that 5 Pointz was still an incredible haven for New York's artistic community and made an impact while it could.
