It seemed like it could be just a rumor, but the LA Times has confirmed that a formal proposal has been made by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art to the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. After board defections and financial troubles, many have speculated the closing or merging of MOCA. LACMA has offered to raise $100 million for the museums as part of their offer.
Will MOCA merge? We'll find out soon enough.
