There are certain things that happen in just about every horror movie. As outlined by the Scream franchise, just about every slasher film (or scary show) has the safe virgin and other doomed promiscuous ladies, the super creepy house that you would never enter, someone always falling when running from the killer, and that one last jump scare when you think the killer is dead. The clichés have become a part of the culture and, when done well, can actually still add something to the experience.

Something that is hardly ever done well but still exists is the horror movie trope of creepy kids making creepy drawings. If there is a minor in a horror film, there is a good chance that he or she will be a psychic and/or a psychopath. The art that these little weirdos create often involves murder, people and things that other people can't see, or exact depictions of things that haven't happened yet but definitely will in the next half hour of the film. For the purposes of this list, we are including every previously mentioned scenario under the general umbrella of things that are f*cked up (we are also using the term "draw" loosely, so just go with it). While Isaac, Malachi, and the rest of the kids in Gatlin, Neb., are out killing their parents and worshipping “He Who Walks Behind the Rows,” Sarah and her brother Job spend their days playing dress-up in empty houses and drawing disturbing pictures of the future. Sarah has the gift of sight and uses her crayons to draw bloody events before they happen, but what makes it creepy is that she's too young to really understand it. All of the murderous kids are smiling, the blood squiggles blend in with the rest of the artwork, and the backward letters make sure you don't forget that this came from the mind of a child.

A word to the wise: if you find two children in the woods, leave them there. If you make the mistake of taking them home and they start drawing shit like this on the walls, take them back.

Even if you haven't seen the film, you probably know that Danny draws the letters “REDRUM” on a door with lipstick while his mom sleeps, then stands over her with a big ass knife, repeating the word and raising his voice until she wakes up and sees the true meaning of his masterpiece in a well-placed mirror.

Getting caught in the middle of a civil war between angels is the worst. The teacher who finds these drawings looks concerned, but she doesn't investigate it much further. We would have a few questions for Mary.

This 1975 Italian horror film by Dario Argento has a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, but we're willing to bet that you've never heard of it. We won't get too deep into the plot that involves a musician, a psychic, hatchet murders, and Christmas trees, but we will say that this child's drawing of a man being stabbed to death by a smiling boy pops up more than once in the film. The drawing shown above was found under an absurdly thin and flaky layer of plaster on a wall in an old house, which would be a complete GTFOH moment if this film wasn't made by the master, Dario Argento.

One of the teens in this film was making the Ripper art, and its pretty twisted that someone would draw this above their own bed (it had to be their own because no one would sleep deep enough for you to install this terrible, giant drawing).

The drawing in this case isn't that f*cked up, but what the kid is able to do with it is. To be fair, David Alan Grier's character is an abusive asshole and gets what he deserves, but turning a drawing into a voodoo doll is still pretty sick, and watching its power in action is cringe worthy.
