On June 6, Franco Fasoli (aka JAZ) will open a solo show titled "VINCULO" at BC Gallery in Berlin. The word vinculo means "bond" in Spanish, chosen to represent the "connections, contradictions and contrasts full of tension that shall not only be shown through the paintings but also through the gallery space and how it interacts with the art."
With paintings made expressly for the gallery space, JAZ deals with social issues in South America as well as the deeper human issue of fears and "the permanent combat we have being inevitably connected to them." Like with his murals, animals and wrestling figures are used as a connection to JAZ's roots. The artist will be in attendance for the June 6 reception, and the show runs through July 26.
