2. ASICS Gel Kayano 14 “Pure Gold”
Perhaps the most storied sneaker series within ASICS’ long history, the GEL-KAYANO 14 was the fourteenth model to be released from the label’s long-running GEL-KAYANO series. 3. Nike x Off-White Air Rubber Dunk “University Blue”
The relationship between Nike and the late Virgil Abloh is one of the most celebrated partnerships in the world of sneakers. Combining aesthetics, production techniques and ideology throughout the course of six years, the pair continuously merged old and new ideas to create an instantly recognisable collection that’s still hailed to this day.
A completely original silhouette by Virgil’s all-conquering Off-White label, the Nike Rubber Dunk is ostensibly a mash-up between the on-trend Nike SB Dunk and the cult favourite P-6000 sneaker. Influenced by the ‘90s-inpired aesthetic of the Air Pegasus line, the designer spoke on the collaboration back in 2020, explaining: “Highlighting the Air is part of the early logic of the collaboration. 4. Concepts x adidas ZX9000 “Boston Marathon”
With stores in some of the world’s biggest fashion hubs, including New York, Shanghai and Dubai, global fashion retailer Concepts has made a name for itself internationally as a cultural hub for all things creative and impactful in the world of skate, streetwear, and sneakers. Arguably one of the most in-demand collaborators of all time, additionally, the Boston-based footwear and apparel boutique has consistently embraced footwear as a medium for creativity since its inception in 1996, resulting in some of the strongest crep link-ups in the market today.
Born out of the A-ZX series created by adidas, this collaborative silhouette is inspired by the emergency blankets given out at the end of one the oldest and most challenging races around—the Boston Marathon. Salomon’s ACS Pro Advanced is a trail icon, earning the acronym in its name from the stride-stabilising Agile Chassis System that underpins the shoe’s capabilities. Initially debuted in 2001—and later reimagined almost 20 years on— the most popular trail runner has been shifting towards a more streetwear-centric approach to its colour palette as of late while still maintaining its iconic performance-driven design.
