Months after we learned that a Baby Phat resurgence was seemingly imminent, Forever 21 is publicly teasing a collab with the classic early '00s brand.

In a retro tech-featuring clip posted to Twitter, Forever 21—complete with a message from a "K.L.S." teasing "major buzz"—urged followers to keep an eye on the 6/13 date, at which point "the cat is back."

The "K.L.S." texter, of course, is an apparent reference to developer Kimora Lee Simmons Leissner, who announced back in March that she had personally bought the label from an undisclosed company.

"We had to hunt around for it," she told WWD at the time. [...] It's perfect timing for this. Over the past several years, we realized the brand resonates with people and lives deep in their souls." Back in May, the official @BabyPhat Instagram also teased a relaunch for this summer:

But Wednesday's Forever 21 shout is the closest to specificity we've received, inspiring a wave of commentary on the brand's heyday and how its 2019 reinvention might look:

This demographic seems right for BabyPhat but the price point at Forever21 is.......

Lower price point usually means lower cost of production. I’m hoping the quality of BabyPhat is maintained at the F21 price point. I also hope Kimora is working with other stockist https://t.co/u4xLy5Au2x
