In 2007, Donda West released a book, titled Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from the Mother of a Hip-Hop SuperstarIn it, she reflected on the things she learned about being Kanye's mother, as well as shared personal anecdotes—living in China with Kanye for a year, taking Kanye to a studio they paid $25 an hour for so he could record "Green Egss and Ham," etc.

Based on the name of the hardcover alone, it's easy to assume that this is more a book for parents. Here's a mother of a celebrity giving free advice—good ones at that, too. But after reading all 240 pages, what becomes evident is that this is much about Kanye as it is raising a child. The biggest takeaway from Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from the Mother of a Hip-Hop Superstar is how much you actually learn about his life (before the money and fame), and how those stories help you really understand him.

Donda shared plenty of stories about her son, some of which included taking him shopping at Marshall's, scolding him for wearing baggy jeans, and buying him his first pair of Air Jordans. There's even some mention of what was supposed to be Kanye's first clothing line, Pastelle

In case you don't feel like reading 240 pages (though you should), we rounded up The Most Stylish #KanyeMoments in Donda West's Book
