Andrea Joyce Heimer's "Sex in Suburbia" exhibition at Shooting Gallery is described as "part allegory part autobiography" and "an exploration of the suburban experience." The characters in her paintings show how sexuality affects the community, placed in scenarios of "heartbreak, physicality, and the emotional claustrophobia that develops in a tightly woven suburban upbringing" similar to her own childhood neighborhood in Great Falls, Montana.
The exhibition opens on June 14 and runs through July 5. Check out a few of the paintings from the show above and head to the Shooting Gallery site for more info.
