Household appliances are supposed to make life easier, but they become a hassle once they stop working. Disposing of such large appliances is inconvenient and can be harmful to the environment. Jerusalem-based industrial designer Tony Grigorian, also known as Antonina, presents an alternative solution with her project "I used to be a washing machine," where she builds chairs using disassembled parts from washing machines. Grigorian's DIY instructions guide you through simple steps to successfully build a series of recycled furniture. Beginning with a bunch of old parts, you can make a set of impressive chairs.
